“Our goal is to make our vision redundant” - Matt

To transform the mitigation, containment, suppression and overhaul of bushfire management.

This is a passion project for founders Matt and Kevin, who firmly believe that leveraging AI to support bushfire experts to understand risk and the optimal treatment strategies for a user is crucial for addressing the challenge at scale.

Their aim is to remove the need to contain, suppress or overhaul with effective mitigation.

Matthew Robards

Co-Founder & CEO

Matt was the driving force behind FiSci’s creation. With a PhD in Machine Learning and firsthand experience as a volunteer firefighter and now deputy captain with the Merimbula Rural Fire Service since 2020, he saw an opportunity to merge these two passions to tackle one of the most complex and urgent challenges—bushfire management.

Before FiSci, Matt co-founded and led Hivery, a retail AI platform where he spent a decade applying advanced machine learning techniques to solve complex retail challenges, driving significant growth and innovation. Earlier in his career, he explored diverse applications of AI, including laser tracking of space debris and optimising bus network efficiency.

Co-Founder & COO

Saying “yes” to co-founding FiSci was the easiest decision Kevin ever made.

A seasoned product and program leader, Kevin has guided teams across multiple industries, bringing deep expertise in SaaS product development to FiSci.

His career began as a software engineer in London’s financial sector before he moved to Australia and transitioned into project and product management. Over nearly 20 years, Kevin has driven innovation and delivery in SaaS solutions across banking, wagering, telecommunications, and retail.
